  • WHAT ARE THE BASIC RULES AT THE HOUSE ?
    The basic rules are: maintain respect and friendship, keep clean, do not use the kitchen and the main floor bathroom after 10 pm.
  • HOW TO CREATE A SENSE OF TOGETHERNESS AT THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE ?
    The International House values ​​the act of sharing and conviviality in the community sense. Indeed, the House lives from exchanges between its visitors who share together: their experiences, their meals, their stories, their community games, their films. This is the main reason to have many spaces reserved for these purposes: kitchen, community room for indoor activities, garden, barbecue area, etc. Use them, invite people to talk with you, share time with you!
  • WHO WILL BE THERE TO WELCOME ME AT MY ARRIVAL ?

  • HOW WILL I FIND MY ROOM ?
    All rooms have a name tag that correspond to the name you had on your booking. Please just find that name tag and get into your room with the code that was given to you. In case your room locks with a key, you will find an open room and key will be on the mini fridge inside the room.
  • WHO ARE OTHERS IN THE HOUSE?
    Our guests come from all corners of the Globe. They come to the international house because they want a simple, friendly and fun place to meet other people from all over the world. In addition, our network of volunteers will help you make the most of your stay.
  • HOW IS THE PARKING MANAGED?
    We have up to 6 free parking lanes for our customers, first come, first served. In the spirit of community, we invite our visitors to park with respect for others. Please note that you can also park on the road without problems in summer, spring or autumn. But in winter, you should not park on the street.
  • WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR USING THE KITCHEN ?
    1-Keep the kitchen clean. 2-Ventilate or open windows to eliminate odors. 3-Wash / put away after consumption: dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. 4-Wipe down all surfaces used: table, platform, stove, etc. 5-Return the common objects used in their compartments: salt, pepper, oil, coffee, etc. 6-Clean the refrigerator if necessary.
  • WHO DOES THE CLEANING IN THE HOUSE?
    Nowadays the house management is connected with cleaning companies and order this as needed.
  • HOW CAN I GET TO OLD QUEBEC AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE?
    You have several possibilities: By car : -take Highway 40 E/HIGHWAY 73 N from Boulevard Pierre -Bertrand/QC-358 O during 5 min on 2,4 km. -then take QC-175 S in the direction of Street Saint-Louis in Cité-Limoilou during 12 min on 6,1 km. -Finally, turn left on Street Saint-Louis and you will have 2 min (550 m) to arrive at Old City of Quebec. By Bus : With publich transportation, take bus 82 at the level of the station Victor-Delamarre/Pierre-Bertrand which will lead you to the station Charest Est/Dorchester to take the Bus 1 until Saint André/Saint Thomas near Old city. By the way: Old City of Quebec is in approximately 4,46 km (2,77 miles) from the International House.
  • HOW TO CALL A TAXI FROM INTERNATIONAL HOUSE ?
    Call a taxi with following numbers Taxi Québec Centre-ville (418) 558-9334 Taxis Coop Québec (418) 525-5191 or look at other possibilities on Google.
  • WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I LEAVE THE PREMISES ?
    Actually you should leave at latest at the indicated time in your booking. When doing so we kindly ask you to: * leave the place (room, common areas, etc.) behind you in a decent status. Thanks again for that. * leave us a note at https://www.facebook.com/theinternationalshouse * close doors behind you (room and main door) Thanks again for having shared your time with us!
  • HOW CAN I GO TO THE AIRPORT OR RAILWAY STATION ?
    By Taxi : simply call a taxi By Bus to railway station: Go to the bus station Victor-Delamarre / Pierre-Bertrand and to take the bus 82 towards Places Jacques-Cartier (South)until Dorchester then you had to take the bus 1 to Charest Est / Dorchester. From there, take the bus 1 Gare fluvial / Cap-Blanc ( South) until the bus station Saint-Paul / Abraham-Martin, the train station « du palais » will be in approximately 2 min by foot. From the bus station Saint-Paul it is a 2 minutes walk to the train station « Gare du Palais By Bus to Airport: take the bus 64 at the bus station Victor-Delamarre /Santerre until Terminus Galleries of the Capital –Quai B1 and to take the bus 79 in the station P.-Lelièvre / 1210 until to the bus station Saint Jacques / Turmel and then it is about another 5 minutes walk to airport.
  • WHAT ARE THE APPROXIMATE PRICES FOR THE ROOMS?
    The rooms today are therefore private and can accommodate groups of 2 or 4 people. The house management takes care of pricing while considering common prices, seasons, number of people per roon and and house amenities.
  • I DO NOT LIVE AT THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE: WHAT DO I HAVE ACCESS TO?
    The premisses are mainly for people leaving there. BUT if you ere invited by someone, you can definitely take advantage of the outdoor premisses and the common rooms (bathroom or activity room)
  • WHAT ARE THE MAIN ACTIVITIES THAT ARE POSSIBLE AT THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE ?
    Well right now, among others, dancing and outdoor activities are the most consireded. About dancing, The International House owns a dance area where dance practices are possible for dances like Kizomba and Derivatives or Salsa/Bachata. Among the outdoor activities we count : staying at the fire place, enjoying the patios, barbecue etc. More activities are planned as we go and will be indicated here when it is time.

  • CAN I RENT ITEMS LIKE BICYCLES OR NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AT THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE ?
    Right now no rental is possible but we are considering to bring that option back again.
